ABOUT ME

Hello.

I am Kang Jie and photography is part of a side creative I picked up by myself during my national service. Initially started with film using a humble analog camera during 2019, I ventured into digital portrait photography a few months later, practicing my studio photography at Upfront Models agency.

Drawing has been my interest as well since young. I began sketching when I was about 7 but toned it down as I focused more on studies during secondary education. Fast forward to right before national service is when I need a medium to express and showcase my drawings, photography did that for me. In turn, I grew more aware of other forms of arts & media from visuals, music and narratives to create content, stories and films. That really impacted my interest in content and communication.

I find it all relates together. Although Arts is very broad and subjective, that also gives every creator out there an endless form of expression. From here, I plan to develop my technical and narrative skills while learning more about the industry.
